I've often heard children say, "There's nothing to do today". I beg to differ. I'd like to inspire you to do something. Anything. Read. Bake. Hike. Fish. Plant. Sail. Climb. Play. Reach. Move. Laugh. Dream; and take time to sit with me on The Old Granite Step.

Just a few pics from the chilly Connecticut shoreline.

It was a bitterly cold day with a gusty wind off the water, but the colors by the shore were so vividly blue.

After a light snowfall the night before, the water seemed to look a bit colder than usual. The blue sky and white clouds seemed to highlight that sentiment.
Some boats wrapped for the season like a blanket on a sleeping baby; others waiting for a chilled ride on the waves.
Nary a footstep on the dock this morning; not even a seagull.
As the sun rose higher, the snow began to melt off the rocks.
Work doesn't stop here just because it's cold outside.
Six months from now it will be difficult to find empty space in this waterway.
Rarely do we get a glimpse of this ship's hull.  Historically fascinating.
After our brisk walk, we enjoyed lunch at a favorite tavern; the Captain Daniel Packer Inne.  Captain Packer was a square-rigger.
